The Waco Section is going to be holding a Discovery Training Camp (DTC) on September 29-30, 2006 at First Assembly of God in Waco. This camp is open to any boy that is at least 8 years of age and in Discovery Rangers. DTC is a national junior training camp for boys. This training camp will teach your boys basic leadership skills and how to work in a patrol. This camp should not be confused with the DAC camp that North Texas offers as part of Sarge Sellers. For those boys that compete in Ranger of the Year (ROTY), DTC is worth 20 points on the ROTY application. This camp is open to any Discovery Ranger in the district that wishes to come. We will be capping attendance to the first 40 boys. The registration cutoff is two weeks before the camp. This allows the camp staff to make final preparations and ensure that we will have all the materials that we need to make this a successful camp. The cost is $35 per boy.

If you have any questions feel free to contact David Trower (JDTrower@royalrangers.net). If a commander wishes to come and stay with their boys for the duration of the camp, we ask that you let us know how many commanders will be staying and we ask that you pay $15 per commander to cover their meals and fill out the 2006 DTC Adult Application. If a commander is wanting a DTC hat or a DTC patch (those items are included for boys) they will need to pay $7 for the DTC hat and $2 for a DTC patch. If your boys are interested in attending, please have them fill out the 2006 DTC Application. A parent/legal guardian’s signature is required for a boy to attend DTC. The pastor’s signature is required for commander’s staying on-site. We look forward to having a great time and seeing you and your boys at DTC.
