After a long day of evaluations and tough competition, the regional and national Ranger of the Years were named in the South Central. With 12 boys competing in Adventure Rangers and 6 competing in Expedition Rangers, the boys faced some of the most difficult competition this region has seen. In Adventure Rangers, we saw nine of the boys achieve the level of excellent and one achieve outstanding while in the Expedition Rangers, we saw two boys achieve the level of excellent and 4 achieve the level of outstanding. The North Texas District is once again proud to be the home of the 2005-2006 National Ranger of the Year from the South Central Region. Furthermore, the Waco Section also has reason to be proud. Our very own Chris Trower was named the 2005-2006 National Ranger of the Year, scoring better than the other five Expedition Rangers that were evaluated. With this honor, Chris gets a $500 college scholarship and is a member of the national staff. He is invited to attend the National Royal Rangers Council and a special event during the summer to honor all eight of the National Ranger of the Years.
