Would you like to impact the lives of boys this summer?
Every summer we have many boys from across the district attend one of the Sarge Training Academy camps – the four-day Discovery Adventure Camp, or one of our full-week camps: Junior Training Camp, Advanced Training Camp, Advanced Merits Camp, or Frontier Brigade Camp. This is an incredible time of training, fellowship, and spiritual impact in the lives of these boys. Most of the boys in our district who have earned their Gold Medal of Achievement have attended one or more of these camps. Our future leaders in Royal Rangers and in our churches will be at these camps.
This year is the 20th anniversary of Sarge; we have a special anniversary patch that was designed for this year’s camp. The dates for Sarge are June 24-29 (staff reports on the 23rd). We have made some changes in some of the camps, and we have some new camp commanders; anything we are changing is to enhance the training experience your boys will receive at this year’s Sarge.
How can you help? First, pray for the camps and for the times of spiritual renewal in the lives of the boys. Sarge historically has had incredible council fire services, and we expect this year to be no different. Your prayers for the camp can help make the difference in the lives of these boys.
Second, consider attending as a staff member. It isn’t too late to sign up to help with Sarge. We still have a great need for instructors, advisors, and other support staff. You can volunteer for as little as two days as an instructor in our merits camps. Of course, we need other staff members who are willing to serve all week. And if you can’t work at the camp, we can always use help on Saturday, June 23 for set up, and/or Saturday, June 30 for tear down.
