Here are some key dates for the rest of 2007, and the district Royal Rangers calendar for 2008. The entire district calendar for 2008, with youth, Girls Ministries, and other dates, will be released by the district in the near future.
One change of note for this year: the District Winter Camp has been extended by one day for those who would like to make it a three-day camp. It will now be November 9-11, 2007. Another change is that we will gather for one big Winter Camp at Lakeview on that weekend. Special speakers and activities are being planned. The entire Winter Camp packet will be available for download from the district web site (http://ntd.royalrangers.net) this weekend. I hope you and your outpost can make it to this year’s district Winter Camp. The cost to attend Winter Camp will be $20 per person, but if you are chartered for the 2007-08 charter year, you will receive a discount of $5 per person, making your registration fee $15.
I have a change in the district staff to report. After serving many years as our district productions coordinator and helping coordinate the Sarge Training Academy, and also providing much of the leadership for this year’s Great Texas Pow Wow, Jeff Kersey recently informed me that he was resigning from the district staff. Jeff has done a tremendous job in each of these areas of service, and he will be missed on the district staff. Please let Jeff know how much you appreciate his service to the boys and leaders of the North Texas District.
Finally, let me remind you that September and October are our charter months. These are the months in which each outpost is asked to renew their charter for their Royal Rangers outpost. If you need a copy of the forms, they are available on our website at http://ntd.royalrangers.net. Charter fees provide a major source of the funds needed for the district and national Royal Rangers offices. In return, you receive publications from both the national and district Royal Rangers, and discounts on events like the $5 discount on Winter Camp this year. Please help us by chartering your entire outpost during September or October.
If there is anything that I can do to help you with your Royal Rangers ministry, just ask. The district staff and I are here to help you minister to the boys of your community.

Our district has also submitted requests to the national Royal Rangers office for the following national training events: National Training Camp (NTC), World Class Outpost Seminar (WCO), and Ranger Kids Training Conference (RKTC). We will begin promoting those dates once confirmed by the national office.
PLEASE NOTE: The Waco Section Royal Rangers 2008 calendar will be released once the entire district calendar has been released and the sectional staff has had the opportunity to look over the calendar and approve it.
