Those interested in getting to know the “men behind the titles” recently elected to the Assemblies of God Executive Leadership Team at the 2007 General Council in Indianapolis, will want to access the AG’s online home page (www.ag.org) the days of October 9-12.
General Superintendent-elect George O. Wood has announced that a day after the new team officially takes office on Monday, October 8, there will be four consecutive days of special morning chapel services held at the national headquarters in Springfield, Missouri. In those services, the new officers will be speaking, including: Assistant General Superintendent Alton Garrison, General Secretary John Palmer, the Executive Director of U.S. Missions Zollie Smith and Wood himself.
“I’ve asked each of the new officers to take a chapel and give the story of their life journey,” Wood explains, “not to preach, but to share their testimony.”
Each of the special services will be taped and then placed online at http://ag.org to view.
“We hope to have each of the morning services placed online by that afternoon, or by the latest, the next morning,” says Keith Surface, the Office of Public Relations Internet Coordinator. “We’ve decided to post these services online as we feel they’ll provide our constituency with greater insight to – and appreciation for – those elected to serve our Fellowship.”
The services will begin with Garrison speaking on Tuesday, Palmer on Wednesday, Wood on Thursday and Smith on Friday.
