The Assemblies of God Executive Presbytery has elected the Rev. Doug Clay to the position of General Treasurer. Clay will take office April 1, fulfilling the unexpired term of the Rev. James K. Bridges, who resigned earlier this month after having served as general treasurer since 1993.
Clay has been superintendent of the Ohio district since 2004 and is the executive presbyter from the Great Lakes Region. Previously, he has served as a youth pastor, Ohio district youth director, national youth director and pastor of Calvary Assembly in Toledo, Ohio. Clay is also on the board of directors for Valley Forge Christian College and is chairman of the board for Central Bible College.
In his new role as general treasurer, Clay will oversee the Division of the Treasury and serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
The General Council Bylaws call for the Executive Presbytery of the church to fill the unexpired term of an executive officer. In the near future, the General Presbytery will elect a new executive presbyter to fill Clay’s prior position representing the Great Lakes Region.
