It’s time to start planning to attend the 2008 North Texas Pow Wow. This camp will be held April 25-27, 2008 at Lakeview Camp in Maypearl. This year’s Pow Wow will follow a circus theme. Our speaker, Rev. Jeff Hunter, is a gifted children’s evangelist and a professional clown. Many of our games will be carnival-style games held under the big top. Other activities will include shooting sports (archery included), district-wide Pinewood Derby races, FCF village (hawk and knife throwing, plus other activities), and for our Adventure and Expedition Rangers canoeing throughout the day Saturday and cardboard boat races Saturday afternoon.
The cost for Pow Wow is $55 per person if your outpost is chartered ($65 if you are not chartered), and that includes 5 meals (supper Friday through breakfast Sunday), activities, patch, Pow Wow ball cap, special hat pins for various activities, insurance, speaker, etc. Each outpost is encouraged to get some hat pins from your local Chamber of Commerce or other source and let your boys trade with other boys from across the district — see who can get the most local hat pins!
The pre-registration deadline is April 1. After that date the cost goes up $15 per person.
When you pre-register you may also pre-order your Pow Wow t-shirts. This will assure that we have the sizes of t-shirts you want — everything from youth medium to adult XXL. This form is in the Pow Wow packet. Only limited t-shirts will be ordered beyond what is pre-ordered by outposts, so be sure to pre-order yours when you register for Pow Wow.
Commanders and any other adult will each need a separate registration form signed by their pastor. Only those registration forms that have a pastor’s signature will be accepted for this camp.
Start praying now with the staff for a mighty move of God during the altar services each night, and during our Sunday morning worship service.
The Pow Wow packet is being mailed out to every chartered commander and to every church. But if you don’t want to wait, you can download a copy of the Pow Wow packet at http://ntd.royalrangers.net/Portals/15/Documents/2008%20Pow%20Wow%20packet.pdf
I hope to see you and your boys at Pow Wow.
