Family Days brought with it many new memories and a time for new friendships to be formed as well as the rekindling of old friendships. It also brought about a change to the online presence of the Shawnee Trail Chapter. The new Shawnee Trail web site went live in conjunction with the FCF Family Days. For years, the Shawnee Trail had pages on the district web site, but it was nothing more than a sub-section of the site. It would occasionally suffer from neglect. However, all that changed at Family Days this year. The Shawnee Trail web site is now hosted at a brand new URL and the home of the Shawnee Trail web site can be found at fcf.ntxrr.org. This new site and the completely new design were a result of the hard work of the FCF Sutler/Promotions, a position that was added to the FCF staff this year by FCF President Art “Flintlock” Sullivan at Pow Wow time in April and is currently held by David Trower.
Along with a completely new, frontier-themed appearance, the Shawnee Trail web site will be THE online source of information for FCF members, non-members, and those interested in FCF in the North Texas District. In addition to the new FCF web site, the Shawnee Trail Chapter also has a blog (which can be found at fcf.ntxrr.org/blog/. For those unfamiliar with what a blog is, a blog is a place where an individual, or a group of individuals, post regular entries on commentaries, descriptions of events, or other news and material. A blog allows for interaction with the web site visitors, in that people can comment on the entries. The Shawnee Trail blog will provide a place where important news articles relating to the chapter will be posted along with other articles that relate to FCF.
I strongly encourage you, if you are a member of FCF to take a look at our new FCF web site. If you are not a member of FCF, but you are interested, I would also encourage you to take a look as well to learn more about FCF and how you can become a member.
